Here at Pleasant View and Juniata Veterinary Clinic, our veterinarians and staff are committed to providing you and your pets with the highest level of care. As such, we have access to our own full, in-house laboratory that allows us to provide complete diagnostics for your pet. And unlike other clinics in the area, we're able to provide veterinary care not only to cats, dogs, and house pets, but many farm animals as well.
One of the many services we have to offer here in our office is that of animal surgery. From routine procedures such as spay and neuter to more involved surgeries, our experienced and skilled team is here to provide the best care to all of our patients, big and small.
Finding out that your pet is in need of pet surgery is never easy, but the staff at our veterinary clinics do everything they can to put your mind at ease and ensure that your pet is well taken care of. Specifically, we're able to perform a number of surgical procedures right here in our office, including traditional soft tissue surgeries and even more advanced orthopedic procedures.
For example, we can perform spay and neuter procedures for pets that are of the proper weight and age. This is a relatively quick procedure and, in most cases, pets can be sent home the same-day or next day. We can also perform surgeries to remove tumors or foreign bodies (such as an object that your pet swallowed). More advanced procedures offered here in our office include ACL repair, Gastropexy, Gastric-Dilitation-Volvulus (or bloat) Repair, Total Ear Canal Ablations, Splenectomies, and more.
When your pet comes into our office for surgery, you can rest assured that he or she is in good hands; in fact, we provide full surgical monitoring for all our patients. This includes conducting blood work before administering anesthesia, in addition to pulse oximetry, heart rate monitoring, ekg, respirations, and more for your pet's safety and your peace of mind.
Before and after your pet's surgery, we'll also conduct any necessary X-rays and diagnostic testing, in addition to providing pain management to ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible. This includes having our veterinarian provide your pet with pain medication needed to relieve discomfort, fight off infection, and make sure your pet recovers as quickly as possible.
Whether you've been told your pet needs surgery or suspect that a procedure may need to be done, we encourage you to contact our veterinarian today. We specialize in pet surgery and our staff would be happy to set up an appointment at a time that works with your busy schedule at either of our locations. You can reach our Pleasant View Veterinary Clinic office by calling (717) 248-4703 for or (717) 436-9790 for the Juniata Veterinary Clinic; our staff would also be happy to answer any questions you may have about our surgical services or any of our other veterinary services offered.
