Dr. Michaela Fry assumes the ownership responsibilities and full-time veterinarian position at Pleasant View/Juniata Veterinary Clinics. Dr. Fry was born and raised in East Waterford, Pennsylvania and received her B.S. in Veterinary Medical Technology at Wilson College in 2004. While at Wilson College she also minored in Biology, Chemistry, and History. In 2008, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Fry has medical interests in food supply veterinary medicine and small animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Fry joined our team in 2008 and purchased the practice from Dr. Braunstein in March of 2015 and has continued to build on the foundation that he built ever since.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Fry is a 4H leader for the Kiddin' Around Sheep and Goat Club and is on the board for the National Romeldale/CVM Conservancy. She resides in Juniata County with her husband, Doug; and a small farm consisting of sheep, dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, and two house 'mini' pigs. In her spare time, her interests include breeding and caring for her Romeldale/CVM sheep, sharing her passion for animals through education, and reading historical books and memoirs. She also loves to travel.
Dr. Tasha Parks is a Urgent Care Veterinarian at our Juniata Veterinary Clinic. A native of central Pennsylvania, she was born and raised in Lewistown, PA where she currently resides. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of Arizona, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. In 2007, she graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation from OSU, she spent two years in small animal private practice in Ohio before accepting a position an emergency clinician and moving home to be closer to her family. Dr. Parks has been practicing solely emergency veterinary medicine for the last 9 years. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and American Veterinary Medical Associations, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, as well as, the Veterinary Hospital Manager’s Association. She is also a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional. Dr. Parks’ professional interests include emergency surgery, pain management and avian, small mammal and reptile medicine. Outside of work her hobbies include reading, hiking, baking, and crafts. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and daughter, along with their menagerie of pets, which include an English Bulldog, a Pug, 3 cats and a 24 year old African Grey Parrot.
Dr. Melissa Ehrisman has been an associate veterinarian at our practice since July of 2002. Prior to that she attended Juniata College where she received her B.S. in Biology in 1998. From there she went on to graduate from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, earning her VMD.
Dr. Ehrisman resides in East Salem, Pennsylvania with her husband Stan, daughter Hannah and son Carter, and several cats and dogs. She enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Tara, our Practice Manager, has been a part of our team since 2011. She has an Associate of Arts degree in Advertising Art and a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. She loves working with the animals at the practice, as well as helping people. She finds it very rewarding to help animals in need and she makes it her personal goal to strive for client satisfaction! Tara and her husband Steve have their own pets including Jackson, a flat coat Retriever mix; Kody, a Beagle mix; and Ellie, a domestic short hair. They are all black and white. When she isn’t working, Tara loves going camping and kayaking, as well as traveling. She also teaches Zumba Fitness Classes. She’s a work-a-holic and always loves to have something to do.
Nicole has been a veterinary technician with our team since 2008. Her favorite part about working at our clinic is seeing owners bring in their new pets. Nicole has many pets of her own. She has two Coonhound mixes named Gracie and Payton, four cats named Sid, Sophia, Diego, and Pickle, a mix of Red Bourbon and Royal Palm turkeys; Ricky Bobby, a rabbit; many Cochin and Brahma chickens; and Annie, Faline, Gilbert, Leo, Nibby, and Scarlette, pygmy goats. When she isn’t working, she loves riding horses, watching dirt track racing, and listening to music.
Jessica has been with our team since 2008 as a receptionist. She loves getting to know our clients and meeting new people. At home, she has two dogs; Charlie (border collie/mix), Toby (mastiff), seven cats; Dia, Puds, Murray, Mildred, Magenta, Felix & Edgar. When she's not at the clinic, she spends her time crafting, listening to music, and spending time with family.
Amanda joined our receptionist team in June 2017. She has a has a degree in Medical Office Management. At home, Amanda has two horses, Lexy an Appaloosa and Elsa a miniature horse. She also has a Welsh Corgi named Copper & Lilly a Jack Russell- Pug mix. Some of Amanda's favorite things about working here is seeing all the animals that come into the clinic. When she is not working she enjoys riding horses, cooking, traveling and spending time with her two children Tyler & Bella and with her boyfriend Colby and his two children Callesta & Dagen.
Ambee works as one of our certified veterinary technicians and has been part of the team since October 2015, with a special interest in cytology and surgery. She earned her Associate in Veterinary Technology degree in 2005 from Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh. She chose to be a CVT because she enjoys working with animals and educating her clients. Ambee and her husband, Daryl, have two children, Brice and Caura, as well as several pets, including Gypsy (a turtle); Dusty (a horse); Wyatt and Peaches (dogs); Jade, Macatum, and Itty Bitty (cats), six chickens, and an assortment of fish. In her free time, she loves to go hiking, fishing, camping, and horseback riding.
Tara has been a veterinary technician with us since October 2014. She earned her Associate Degree in Veterinary Technician at VTI. Tara is a true animal lover; at home she has two dogs, Mack the pug and Princess the chihuahua, two horses, Secret and Snoopy, and four chickens. Tara's favorite part about working at our veterinary clinic she says is, 'Being able to help not only the animals but their owners. I also enjoy giving the animals a voice and to help people understand their needs.' Tara loves riding and showing horses. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Tara has traveled to France to see Paris and Normandy; she's also been to Dublin, Ireland.
Cheyenne shares her home with a German Shepherd mix named Macie and two Thoroughbred horses named Steel and Citi. In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses and camping. Although she loves caring for small mammals here at the clinic, horses are her favorite animals.
Valerie graduated from Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh in 2010. After graduation she worked for Straley Veterinary Associates then attended Penn State University. She graduated from there with a degree in Agricultural Education and Extension in 2015. Valerie has been working at CPVets since 2012 where she is the lead technician. Valerie started to work for us in July of 2016. She enjoys educating clients on what may be best for the pet. Being able to help in any aspect is also a plus. When Valerie is not working she spends time with her little boy and runs a family farm with her sister raising club lambs and chickens. Valerie is an active 4-H and FFA volunteer.
Katie joined our technician team in June 2017. Katie enjoys working with all the different animals and building relationships with our clients. Katie has 3 dogs Shady a Golden Retriever, Luke a English Springer and Gizzy a Yorkie-Poo, 4 Pygmy goats Jenna, Larry, Lilly & Bonnie, 1 Flemish Giant Lucy and 2 Crested Geckos Tina & Louise. When Katie is not at work she enjoys reading, playing video games, camping, kayaking, swimming & spending time with her family.
